Jesus did not create a Church. Jesus did not create Christianity. After his death and resurrection, his followers participated in a movement called, “The Way.” Over time, a new religion called “Christianity” would emerge, but its earliest forms looked nothing like today’s expressions of faith.
The Slate Project is trying to do something new by asking, “What if we had a clean slate?" "What would we challenge for not working?" "How could we connect with our sacred history?" We don’t have Sunday morning worship, nor do we have a building. What we do have is a vision for a passionate, intentional community. Join us online and ITF (in the flesh). You’re invited to check out one of our Baltimore-based face-to-face gatherings: #BreakingBread is our weekly dinner liturgy that happens on Monday nights and #WakeUpWordUp is Bible Study that (hopefully) doesn't suck on Wednesday mornings. |
#SlateSpeakEvery Thursday night at 9 PM EST we are on Twitter chatin' it up about topics that matter and engaging in deep, theological conversations.
